A Week To Be Thankful For

Last week I traveled home to Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday. Like many others, traveling home for the holidays is something I’ve become accustomed to over the years. Thanksgiving and winter breaks have always been a period of time where I reunite with old friends and family, and designate time for relaxation. This break was different because instead of hanging out on my couch all week, I traveled around the state of Florida. A busy week filled with friendship and fun, here’s a recap of everything I did over Thanksgiving break.

Belated Birthday Wishes

I started this week by celebrating my (very belated) birthday with two of the most important people in my life, my Mom and Dad! No matter my age, my parents never fail to make my birthday special.

Attending A Wedding

Towards the beginning of the week, I attended a wedding with my boyfriend and his family in Havana, FL. The highlight of the trip was spending quality time with Brenden and getting the chance to meet some of his close family friends.

Finally Seeing Wicked!

One of the best parts of the entire week was seeing Wicked with my mom. As huge musical theater fans, we waited for what seemed like forever to see this movie adaptation and we were not disappointed! I've been listening to the soundtrack on loop ever since and don't plan on stopping soon!

Celebrating Thanksgiving

I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and close friends in Jensen Beach, Florida. This Thanksgiving was even more special because I got to spend time with my cousins from Philadelphia, PA.

A Concert Years in the Making

One of the things I was most excited for over this break was a reunion with one of my good friends from college, THE Kate Lowry!!! We road-tripped across the state to see Kacey Musgraves in concert in Tampa, Florida. Not only have I been waiting YEARS to see Musgraves, but I got to see my friend who recently moved to California.

Spending Time by the Seashore

Lastly, one of the best parts of my break was being in my hometown of Jensen Beach, Florida. Admittedly I am a homebody, but the reason I love being home is because I appreciate it now more than ever. Every road is lined with palm trees, colorful buildings, and lots and lots of turquoise water. Being able to grow up minutes from the ocean was truly a gift. No matter where I go or what I do, my roots will always lie in this little beach town.

I am grateful for all of the people I saw and things I did over the holiday break. Thanksgiving is a season to be thankful, and seeing all my loved ones reaffirms how grateful I am for the people in my life. I have so much to be thankful for, and this week was a perfect representation of that.

A question for the comments: What are you most thankful for?
